Get to Know Me
My name is Sabrina (Bria) Dela Roca and I am a first generation immigrant. I am a Filipino-American whose parents were initially rice and live stock farmers and are now both health care professionals, as a doctor and nurse. I owe it to my parents for immigrating to America in order for my four siblings and I to have a better life. I'm living the American dream and it's all because of them.
I started my nursing journey at Santa Monica Community College as a pre-nursing/biology major hoping to transfer into a nursing school, despite the demand and competitiveness. After 3 years of constant determination and sacrifice, I was very honored and ecstatic to have been admitted into the UCI School of Nursing.
I graduated from UCI in June 2021, passed my NCLEX, and I am now working as a New Grade Nurse Resident in the Direct Observation Unit.
To all you future nurses out there, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
